Sea-Side follows the PADI training philosophy. Diving: relaxing, action-packed, tranquil, adrenaline pumping, adventurous – diving is all this and more.
Becoming a certified diver is easier then you think. It just takes a few easy steps. These steps allow an easy progression into what will most definitely become the greatest experience of your life. Classroom activities Don’t let the words classroom scare you. Classroom activities can easily be completed in one day. In the class room you will develop the knowledge needed to understand the concept, Regulations and safety aspects of scuba diving. The classroom is also your first step in the familiarity and hands on training with scuba equipment. By the end of your classroom work, the excitement of finally getting in the water, leads you to your next phase. Pool activities In simple words, this part of your training is awesome. In the pool phase, (which can also be completed in one day), you and your instructor will practice and develop the water skills needed to comfortably and safely enjoy scuba diving for years to come. You will be amazed at how easy and safe scuba diving actually is. Now! As if that’s not exciting enough, just wait. Open water diving This is where you see and do things you’ve only dreamed of. This is probably the greatest sensation you can legally share with others, You and your instructor go over the skills you developed in the pool phase during open water dives. This phase is generally completed in just two days. After the successful completion of the last open water dive, you will be awarded your certification card good for a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. This card will be recognized all over the world as a certification that you are a safe and properly trained scuba diver.
BUBBLEMAKERS! What a wonderful gift for youngsters! This class is designed to give children ages 8-9 the opportunity to dive in a pool and receive their own certification card! This class is filled with fun exercises that will have children pool diving in no time at all. The class fee includes classroom time, pool time, use of all equipment, certificate, decal, tattoo and emblem (certification card can be purchased for an additional fee)!

Know anyone older than 9 who wants to give scuba diving a try, we also offer Introductory Scuba Diving Classes for Big Kids.
PADI SEAL TEAM A new experience program designed for kids from 8 – 11 years old. In this program (three 2-hour sessions)kids will learn basic scuba diving skills. The class cost includes a video, log book, decal, certificate and membership application. With membership comes access to a PADI Seal Team web site designed for young divers. Students must have their own mask, fins and snorkel.

BOY SCOUTS SCUBA AWARD Sea-Side Dive Shop is one of the first Dive Centers to offer the new BSA Scuba Award. We are offering this training to all local area troops. There are two components to this class: a one hour presentation at your troop meeting and a 4 hour pool session. At the pool you will have the opportunity to learn snorkelling and scuba skills. Available pool dates are: March 3, March 10. Get your entire troop involved. The cost is $50 per person and includes the pool, dive equipment, and instruction. After you earn your BSA Award, take the PADI Open Water class. Troops providing their own pool will receive additional discounts.
CONFINED OPEN WATER DIVER This is where your scuba diving adventures begin. You will be scuba diving on the first day of class! Upon completion of this class you will be prepared to take your Open Water Dives, thus completing the process of becoming a PADI Open Water Diver. Students must be at least 10 years of age to sign up for this class (yes, the minimum age has been lowered!)

OPEN WATER DIVES This is where you complete your certification process and become a PADI Open Water Diver. You will make four dives over two days. The skills learned in the pool will be repeated on these dives. The fee includes you dives and certification ID card. Equipment rental is additional.

ENRICHED AIR DIVER Learn the advantages of diving with Nitrox, which is oxygen enriched air. Safely increase your no-decompression limits and shorten your surface intervals.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER The adventure continues! Now it is time to broaden your horizons. As an Advanced Open Water Diver you will enhance dive skills, meet new dive buddies and gain confidence as you explore various special dive activities. The prerequisite is Open Water Diver.

Emergency First Responder Class This class is designed for divers and non-divers (ie, you can take this class with your non-diving friends). If emergencies arise, be the person with the skills and confidence to take charge of the situation. First Aid, CPR and AED (Automatic Emergency Defibulator) are taught, thereby fulfilling the prerequisite for Rescue Diver.

DAN 02 This class is designed for divers and non-divers (ie, you can take this class with your non-diving friends). In many emergencies, the delivery of oxygen to the victim can make all the difference. Give this class as a gift to your dive buddy, it is a lot like giving your buddy an alternate second stage. Remember that you must be re-certified every 2 years. (Prerequisite – a CPR class some time in your life).

ICE DIVER Don’t let a little cold weather stop you from diving year round. The PADI Ice Diver program will familiarize you with skills, procedures, techniques, hazards and excitement of diving under the ice. Experience how clear our inland lakes can get when boat traffic and winds aren’t a factor. A true Michigan experience! (prerequistie is Advanced Open Water or equivalent).

DRYSUIT DIVER Don’t let a little cold water stop you from diving year round. The PADI Drysuit Diver program will familiarize you with skills, procedures and techniques to make diving dry a great experience (prerequistie is Advanced Open Water or equivalent). Buy your drysuit from Sea-Side and get this class for free (book and certification costs not included).

WRECK DIVER Want to explore sunken ships, crashed planes and lost treasures beneath the surface? Then the PADI Wreck Diver program is just want you want. To venture into PADI’s Wreck Diver program, you’ll need to be at least a PADI Adventures In Diving or Advanced Open Water Diver, and be at least 15. During your PADI Wreck Diver program you’ll go on four open water dives, which may be conducted over at least two days.

DRIFT DIVER Gliding with the currents, feeling the rush of flying underwater, is what drift diving is all about. During your PADI Drift Diver program, you’ll go on two open water dives. We highly recommended that you enroll in this program to expose yourself to the techniques and procedures for drift diving. Capture the feeling of flying by dropping in at Sea-Side Dive Shop to register.

Rescue The next class in your development is the Rescue Diver class. Here you will gain confidence and self-assurance by learning how to assist other divers. You will develop accident prevention and management skills and have fun while you are learning. The prerequisite is Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) and Medic First Aid.

DIVE MASTER The PADI Dive Master program is your first step toward leadership level in the PADI System of diver education. The training and experience you gain through the PADI Dive Master program helps shape your abilities and attitude toward becoming a professional level diving educator. To qualify for PADI Dive Master training, you’ll need to: Be certified through Rescue Diver (or equivalent); have 20 logged dives prior to starting; have 60 logged dives before completing Dive Master; be in good physical condition; and be at least 18 years old.
